Mist extraction for BFW CNC machines

Start with the exact machine and process, not a collector chosen from the machine brand alone. Share your BFW model, coolant and enclosure photos so the extraction arrangement can be checked.

Before selecting a model

What we need from your shop

BFW's CNC turning range spans the HTL series (Helix, Helix Y and Rhino turning centres), the PL series (PL5030 and PL6050), the ST turn-mill series (ST 500X-2500 MTS) and the BVL vertical lathe series in turret, ram and milling-head types (BVL 500 H to BVL 1250 H, BVL R L, BVL 800ML). BFW also builds vertical and horizontal machining centres. The series name is a starting point, not a verified Cleanmist mounting specification. Machines within a series can differ in enclosure, options and process.

Machine and enclosure

Send the complete model and variant from the machine plate, plus photos of the enclosure and any existing extraction opening. Include available space above or beside the machine.

Fluid and operation

Whether the machine runs emulsion (water-mix) coolant or neat oil, the operations it performs, and any high-pressure coolant or oil-through-spindle option.

Installation arrangement

Top-mount, side-mount on a stand, or ducted to a central system. A photo of the machine roof and the shop layout around it helps.

Duty and quantity

Hours per shift, how often the enclosure door opens, and how many BFW machines run the same duty.

Product duty

Coolant mist or neat-oil smoke?

The CM series brochure lists suitability for oil and emulsion mist. CM600, CM1100, CM1500 and CM2000 have rated airflows of 600, 1100, 1500 and 2000 CMH respectively. These are collector ratings, not confirmed airflow requirements for any BFW model. The ESP series is intended for neat-oil mist and smoke applications. Its collecting cells are washable; optional HEPA is a separate replaceable filter. Selection still depends on the process, fluid and extraction arrangement. We have not published a universal BFW-to-Cleanmist model chart because machine-specific fit and extraction requirements have not been verified. Send the details above before choosing the unit.

Questions about a BFW installation

Does every BFW machine need the same mist collector?

No fixed model mapping is claimed here. A BVL vertical lathe and an HTL-series turning centre differ in enclosure, tank volume and process, so the complete machine variant, coolant, enclosure and connection arrangement need checking first.

Can you confirm the mounting from the machine name?

Not from the name alone. Photos and dimensions of the intended location and connection help establish whether a practical mounting arrangement is available.

Is Cleanmist a BFW-approved accessory?

This page does not claim BFW approval, an OEM partnership or a factory-fit option. BFW is used only to identify the machine make being discussed.

What should I send first?

Your exact BFW model and variant, fluid name and a few enclosure/extraction-opening photos. Add any existing collector details and the number of machines.

Send your BFW machine details

Share your machine model, coolant and enclosure photos. We will review the application before recommending a collector or arrangement.
